FOURTH OF JULY PARADE AND PICNIC A BIG HIT

Flags, fire engines, decorated bikes, face painters, balloon artists, hot dogs, sno-cones, bounce houses, games, streamers, neighbors and fun were just a few things residents saw at the annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic, hosted by the Reservation and JJ Pearce homeowners associations.

There were prizes awarded for the "Best Decorated" Car, Bike, Wagon and Dog & Dog Owner. Several Veterans walked or rode in the Parade, including 91-year-old Joe Counts, and a Vietnam War veteran led the neighborhood in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "God Bless America. The Parade ended at Mimosa Park for a Picnic with free hot dogs, watermelon, sno-cones and soft drinks, a Bounce House, an inflatable Obstacle Course, coloring for kids, face painting, and balloon artists. More than 250 residents celebrated the birth of our nation, and brought dozens and dozens of kids!

There was a raffle for 54 different prizes, including $50 gift certificates to Sprouts.
